ESI's accumulators are designed to provide accumulated storage of flexible material during line operation without having to shut the line down. ESI manufactures accumulators for use ahead of the extruder on crosshead extrusion lines such as metal reinforced profiles or for use at the end of the extrusion line ahead of windups or on lines requiring additional cooling. Accumulation is typically vertical to minimize floor space and is primarily used during reel changeovers. Accumulators consist of a series of free turning upper and lower rolls.
